Wow, outstanding driver,
Amazing that something so light can have so much control and generate such big hits. I’ll preface the rest of the review by stating that I am not that good a golfer, but this driver makes me feel like one at times. I have the right handed, regular shaft, 10 degree non tour version of the club.
When you hit it well, the ball travels straight and long. There is a satisfying metalic ping, which is not to loud or annoying. The feel of a clean hit is outstanding. When you don’t hit it well, it still generally travels straight and long. Now I am a bad enough golfer that at times I really don’t hit it well, and it will still go long and straight (just not straight at what I was aiming at). What really helps me out though is that there is little side spin generated, meaning no balls that start somewhat straight only to begin slicing off violently (almost to the point if you have a wicked slice like I do, you begin to stare at the club with reverence and awe).
Distance for me is anywhere between 225-300 yards. Today I was at the range hitting into a wind stiff enough to occasionally blow the ball off the tee. I was still able to hit it 250 plus at times. The wind was blowing mostly at me with a strong right to left. Well hit balls really jumped off the face and penetrated the wind, showing little to no effect (side to side). I am a bigger athletic person, who hasn’t played golf in years and I lack a consistantly smooth swing. I know that I am losing distance due to a lack of flexibilty and the ability to generated club speed (mitigated somewhat by my size and strength), but this club really makes up for that and then some. Sweet spot is also extremely large.
I had read several online reviews at sites other then amazon before I decided on this club. Most were overwhelming positive and spoke about the distance and the abilty to hit the ball straight down the fairway. I can say with certainty, those reviewers were right on the money. Outstanding piece of “game improvement” technology and I would recommend it whole heartedly.
